ISABEL JOACHIN
Isabel Joachin
Isabel’s journey into the structural engineering world began with her love for bridges but, after a brief acquaintance with one of Pivot’s principals, she became fascinated by the forensic side of this field. Isabel gets excited about the detective work forensic engineering brings to her life since she enjoys putting puzzle pieces together to understand the cause(s) of any given structural condition. She believes that forensics presents a unique opportunity to learn continuously. Given that no set of variables combine in the same way, every project is fascinatingly unique. Since joining Pivot, Isabel has investigated structural failures, performed condition assessments of different structures, and even participated in litigation projects.
Isabel earned her B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Universidad del Valle de Guatemala in 2020 and attended Texas A&M University where she received an M.S. in Civil Engineering with a Structural focus in 2023.
Outside the office, Isabel enjoys spending time outdoors with her friends. She never rejects a hike or a run, and she also enjoys art and food.
