Stalin Armijos, Ph.D.

Stalin believes the beauty of engineering resides in understanding fundamental concepts and skilled implementation. His passion for structural engineering has presented challenges ranging from designing oil and gas facilities to investigating performance of steel bridges. His background includes analysis and design of steel and concrete structures subjected to dynamic loading. During his time at Pivot, he has performed forensic investigations of structural failures, assessed in-service infrastructure, peer reviewed design of solar racking and tracking systems, and developed repairs and strengthening for existing structures.

Stalin received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from The Army Polytechnic School (ESPE) in Ecuador, and both his M.S. and Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin.

Stalin has published multiple technical articles and has presented his work in national and international events. He is member of the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) and participates in various Task Groups of the Structural Stability Research Council (SSRC).

Outside the professional environment, he enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife, cat and dog. He is an avid triathlete and has completed several Olympic distance and Ironman 70.3 races.
